Eid Mubarak

This was informed at the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee on Thursday (May 13) evening. It has been said that the moon has been seen in the sky of Bangladesh. So Eid will be celebrated all over the country on Friday.

The government has instructed to celebrate Eid in accordance with the health rules. Like last year, this time too there will not be much celebration. This is the third Eid at the time of the Corona epidemic.

To prevent the spread of coronavirus, this year's Eid Jamaat should also be held in the mosque like last year. In this case, you have to follow the hygiene rules, you can't hug.

According to the Islamic Foundation, a total of five congregations will be held at Baitul Mukarram this time. The main congregation of Eid will be held on Friday at 8 am. Then the remaining four congregations will be at 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 10:45 am.

The country's largest Eid Jamaat is held every year at Sholakia in Kishoreganj. But due to the ban on holding Eid Jamaat in the open field during the epidemic, the Jamaat is not being held in Sholakia again.

Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and Dhaka mosques have one or more Eid congregations.

Call to celebrate Eid in Bangladesh in accordance with scientific method

The moon of the month of Shawwal will be seen in the sky of the earth today, Wednesday (May 12). According to him, Eid-ul-Fitr is tomorrow. The moon observation website MoonSighting.com has claimed that. From this year, according to the information given by the website, Saudi Arabia is also counting the Arabic months. According to him, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country on Thursday (May 13). Not only that, Muslims in 183 out of 193 countries of the world will observe Eid on Thursday following this method. Astronomers have therefore called on the Bangladesh Moon Sighting Committee to observe Eid-ul-Fitr on the same date in a scientific manner.

According to MoonSighting.com, a website that provides information on the position of the moon with information from NASA, the new moon of the month of Shawwal 1442 AH will be seen in the sky of the earth on May 12, that is, this Wednesday evening. The new moon can be seen with the naked eye from almost all the countries located in the west of Bangladesh. And new moons can be seen from this region i.e. Bangladesh, India or Pakistan and Eastern countries through telescope.

Quran researcher Kazi Mohammad. Rezaur Rahman said binoculars can be seen all over Africa and the Middle East. Since India, Bangladesh, Pakistan are far away, we have to look at the moon with a telescope. If the moon is seen somewhere, the month of Shawwal will definitely start. And it is haraam to fast on the first day of Shawwal.

Astronomers say that the moon sighting committee of Bangladesh should follow the scientific method and look for the moon through telescope as well as with the naked eye.

Atomic scientist and Islamic thinker Professor. Shamsher Ali said, the earth is one, mankind is one, one satellite so the moon cannot be one of each country. So it has to start whenever the moon is seen.

Scientists say that the Arabic month will start as soon as the news of moon sighting is heard anywhere in the world, not in the sky of one's own country. Besides, if you can pray in a scientific way, where is the obstacle to observe fasting or Eid?
